Severe bleeding

Heavy bleeding that will not stop.

Call for emergency help immediately. This is not a substitute for medical care.

1. 1 Call your local emergency number Do this first, or ask someone nearby to call while you act.
2. 2 Press firmly on the wound Use a clean cloth or your hands and keep constant pressure.
3. 3 Do not remove the dressing If blood soaks through, add more layers on top rather than lifting the first.
4. 4 Keep the person warm and still Lay them down, keep them calm, and watch their breathing.
5. 5 Stay until help arrives Keep pressure on and follow the operator instructions.
