Gas leak

A strong gas smell, or a hissing sound near a pipe or meter.

Do not create any spark.

1. 1 Leave the area Get everyone out of the building straight away.
2. 2 Do not touch switches or phones No lights, no doorbell, no flames. A spark can ignite the gas.
3. 3 Move to a safe place outdoors Get well clear and keep others away.
4. 4 Call from outside Call your local emergency number or the gas emergency line from a safe distance.
5. 5 Wait for the all-clear Do not go back inside until the authorities say it is safe.
